A Bit of Background

How We Got Started

Originally we did not plan to start a small business breeding poodles, we just wanted a beautiful and intelligent pet for ourselves. However, we became hooked on the breed and soon we added a second and then a third one to our family and eventually decided to become a responsible
breeder of Miniature Poodles.

Why Poodles You Ask?

  1. Poodles possess BRAINS & BEAUTY.  Poodles are the second most intelligent canine on earth.

  2. Poodles rise to a challenge and love to please their owner, which means they can be highly trained; they are funny and clever.

  3. Poodles are known to be empathetic dogs.  They are able to pick up on the mood of their owner making them great pets, as well as therapy dogs and emotional companions.  However, it's important to know that they don't respond well to harsh tones or physical discipline. They need positive reinforcement, socialization and affection.

  4. Poodles are not commonly known as excessive barkers.  They may bark when someone is at the door or hear something in the backyard, but don't continue barking for no reason.

  5. Poodles are a great choice for those with allergies or those that just don't want to continue cleaning up hair in the home since they are hypoallergenic.

  6. Poodles are great pets for families with young children too and can develop extremely strong bonds with a child. They are highly affectionate and devoted to their family.

  7. Miniature Poodles typically weigh between 10 and 15 pounds, and range from 11 to 15 inches in height at the shoulder.  Their life expectancy is approximately 10 to 16 years.

Guiding Mission

The Wellbeing of our Poodles Comes First

At Kennison Lane Poodles, we continue to care about our poodles long after they leave us.

As such, it’s our strict policy to only sell to individuals and families; we will never sell to pet shops or brokers.

To make sure our poodles get the forever home they deserve, we carefully screen all potential owners through an application process. Contact us to find out more about the process or to get on our waiting list.
